Two weeks ago I attended the Create & Cultivate conference held in Los Angeles. Create & Cultivate is a creative conference and online platform for female entrepreneurs in the digital space in partnership with Digital Brand Architects, My Domaine, Who What Wear, and Byrdie. The conference focuses on female entrepreneurship in the digital world, attracting the next generation of creatives and entrepreneurs to collaborate about influencer marketing and brand building for profitability.
The conference is a one-day event with workshops, mentor sessions, panels, food and cocktails, pop-up shops, photos booths, beauty bars, and gift bags. Create & Cultivate attracts hundreds of the top talented female creatives and entrepreneurs for a one-of-a-kind environment to network and enhance their career.
During my time at the conference, I met an amazing group of women whom I cultivated lasting business relationships and friendships. This years event featured speakers including Joy Cho, Bri Emery, Emily Henderson, Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe, and a keynote conversation with Chelsea Handler.
“I was super insecure about not having a college degree or a conventional education. And I really thought I wasn’t smart or didn’t deserve to have a seat at the table. I felt like a fraud in business settings. It took me getting over that for the company to get on its feet. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a degree or expertise. Surround yourself with people who have done it before and support your weaknesses with their strengths.” – Jessica Alba
“It’s about being honest, kind, and forthcoming. Internally and externally it’s what we put out and it’s how I govern my business and my life.” Also adding, “Follow your gut and your instinct. I know what I know, but I know what I don’t know. ” – Rachel Zoe
“It’s so important for women to know that they can rely on other women. Because there’s nothing worse than a fucking bitch. If it’s a woman you don’t like, just pretend. If it’s a man, go off on him.” – Chelsea Handler
