This contemporary Living Room located in Harlem, New York was designed for a young traveling male entrepreneur and was the very first ADL interior design project. The original brick wall drove the design aesthetic and color palette, with various shades of blue repeating throughout the space complementing the warm tones of the interior architecture. Soft leather, wool, and natural wood textures are contrasted with glossy lacquer and reflective metallic and mirrored elements. The finished space is adorned with a few edgy accessories, a stocked bar cart, and the client’s impressive personal collection of intellectual publications. Graced with natural light the room is bright, fresh, and full of color and tactile stimuli. The space is energetic yet comforting, perfect for returning home from an extended work trip or having a few friends over for the game. This project was completed almost entirely virtually requiring only one on-site visit and shopping day in New York City. It took just under 15 design hours to complete in two months time.
